No More Homework Hassles

Homework. It can be a huge hassle. You've got a lot going on in your life, and sometimes it's hard to fit homework into your day. But here's the hard truth: if you don't do your homework and hand it in on time, you're not going to succeed in school.

So how do you handle all this homework? Here are a few simple steps to remove the hassle from your homework:

1. Write it down. Every time you get a new assignment, write down what the project is and when it is due. Our View-Tab® Subject Notebook has colored, tabbed dividers to make it easy to organize homework assignments for each class.
   
   
2. Set a time. Try to set a specific study time each day. Maybe it's as soon as you get home, or right after dinner. Find a time that works for you.
   
   
3. Make a space. You need your own private study space, a place that is as free from distractions as you can make it. Avoid any room where there is a lot of noise. And although it's tempting, stay away from TV until you're done studying.
   
   
4. Check it off. Look at each of your assignments as a level on a game-you're not going to win unless you get through the entire level. When you're done with an assignment, cross it off and proceed to the next level.
   
   
5. Keep focused. If your best friend calls, wait to call them back until you're finished. It will keep you from getting distracted and give you something to look forward to.
   
   
6. Switch subjects. Sometimes it's a good idea to switch subjects, especially if you've been working on Algebra for 45 minutes and your head is feeling fuzzy. Switch to History for a while to give the math side of your brain a rest.
   
   
7. Give yourself a hand. When you're done-everything's checked off your list-give yourself a reward. A phone call. A bowl of ice cream. An Xbox session. Unwind a little bit and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.
